Immaculate Conception Cathedral Brick Paver Fundraiser

The Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) arrived in Brownsville in 1849 after the Bishop of Galveston requested their help. Construction of the Gothic Revival style building began in 1856 using 250,000 bricks made as tithes by parishioners.

The Cathedral has gone through some rough times. It has survived hurricanes, fires and explosions. In 1980, Immaculate Conception was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Now, our Church needs your bricks again! The restoration of our beloved home is in need of additional funds. There are still many items in want of repair.

• The Sacristy roof repair is still ongoing since there were insufficient funds at the time of the Cathedral roof repair
• Main entry doors fronting 12th Street is expected to be replaced to their original design
• The 1935 Kilgen Pipe Organ is in need of upgrades and a new console

We now have an opportunity to leave a lasting imprint in our religious home. As an effort to help raise money for our beloved church’s restoration, we are offering personalized brick pavers that will be placed in the front walkway of the Cathedral for all to share and admire. The laser engraved bricks are guaranteed for life, with permanent paint that will never wear away.

The bricks can be personalized with names, dates, scriptures, verses, or quotes about faith. You can also purchase a brick to honor a family member, celebrate a child, and recognize a special person, group or professional organization.

If Selecting Custom Logo ($75 each)

• -Logos are a minimum of $75.00 Each.  Any additional cost will be determined once BMI’s Graphics and Laser Department confirm the complexity of your graphic or artwork.
  
  
• -Email Logos as an attachment to the Cathedral’s Sales Representative or submit on a storage disk. 
  
  
• - Send all Logos in an IBM Compatible format. 
  
  
• - Digital image files should be sent as CDR, PLT, EPS, CDL or PCX Files.  PDF or BMP formatted images are not accepted.
  
  
• - All images should have a minimum resolution of 300 DPI and should be provided in black and white.
  
  
• - Logos not supplied in the specified format can be received as true camera ready art but a minimum charge of $100.00 will be assessed per logo.  Pricing includes: Set-up, scanning, logo programming and laser conversion.
