Legacy Square is a new outdoor event space which is being built in downtown Ottawa, Kansas to allow community events, farmer’s markets, food truck festivals and much, much more. The covered pavilion and green space located at the confluence of the Prairie Spirit Trail and the Flint Hills Trail is perfectly situated to allow easy access and large community gatherings. Funds to build Legacy Square have come from a partnership between the City of Ottawa and the citizens of Franklin County. $4.05 million has already been raised through private donations…many families have taken advantage of different naming rights to honor the legacy of loved ones or in memory of former community leaders.
This is an initiative of the entire community and we want everyone to have an opportunity to create their legacy in Ottawa’s new community gathering space.
The brick paver tiles will be beautifully located around the sidewalk and will nicely accent the green park space. The tiles featuring family names, loved ones or local businesses will be easily seen and read by someone strolling about the square or when sitting and resting on the benches in the shade of the covered structures. Thank you for considering participating in building a legacy for Ottawa. The funds raised from the brick markers will help push our fundraising efforts over the top as well as honor the legacy of those commemorated. Your donation will become part of Ottawa’s Legacy.
