Thank you for supporting the Stober Community Garden, a gathering and growing space for Stober Elementary and for the Applewood neighborhood.
About the Garden
This garden has been years in the making. Not only is this a garden, it’s
…an extension of our school classrooms for our children where they can apply what they are learning,
…a hub where friendships amongst neighbors can be forged in side-by-side gardening,
…a gathering spot for workshops and speakers around environmentalism and gardening,
…a space where all can reconnect with our earth and our food sources, and
…a way for us to support environmental and food justice initiatives.
And, thanks to your contribution, the Stober Community Garden will be ready for its first growing season in 2022! Dozens of volunteers and more than five build days later, the opening day is in sight. This winter, we will assign plots to those interested in gardening in the upcoming season. Together, we will tend to the soil, participate in community events, and work together to tend to this patch of earth. As the garden takes shape, we welcome you to come by and see the beautiful space that is taking shape at Stober Elementary.
Your Brick Paver
At this point, we invite you to consider what you would like to have inscribed on the brick paver that you will receive with your donation.
The brick paver tiles will be beautifully located around the garden, nicely accenting the pathways. These will be easily seen and read by someone strolling about the garden or when sitting and resting to enjoy the beauty of the space.
Engrave your brick with your child's name or family name, the dates your child attended Stober or their graduating year. You may honor a teacher, coach, a loved one, or even a dear neighbor. You may also recognize your business or another business as an important part of our school and community.
